About The Position

Under the direction of a Radiologist, Administrative Director, Radiology Team Leader, or Radiology Section Manager, the Radiology Technologist 1 performs radiographic procedures according to established protocols for various age groups of patients. This role requires a technical level with minimal supervision of technical detail. The technologist will perform a wide variety of general radiographic procedures, including complex portables, unassisted Trauma Alerts, complex Fluoroscopy, Basic C-arm, and sterile contrast studies. All technical procedures necessitate independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative in applying prescribed ionizing radiation for radiological diagnosis. The individual will assume responsibility for designated areas or procedures as required and assess the age-specific needs of patients. The position's duties are to be performed in accordance with the mission, vision, and values of Tampa General Hospital.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a Radiologic Technology program from an accredited school
  • Registered ARRT
  • Current BLS certification
  • Florida Licensure as Radiologic Technologist by State of Florida
  • 1 year of progressively responsible experience in a hospital diagnostic imaging department

Responsibilities

  • Perform radiographic procedures according to protocols established for various age groups of patients
  • Perform a wide variety of general radiographic procedures including complex portables, Trauma Alerts unassisted, complex Fluoroscopy, Basic C-arm, and sterile contrast studies
  • Apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiological diagnosis using independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative
  • Assume responsibility for designated area or procedures as required
  • Assess the age-specific needs of the patients
