Requirements

  • Applicants should be a graduate of a Radiology program.
  • Current radiation operator certificate in state of practice.
  • Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology on Radiology.
  • BCLS required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform imaging procedures in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
  • Reviews patient history and physician’s order.
  • Educate patients regarding procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure patient’s understanding and cooperation.
  • Prepares equipment and supplies, selects exposure factors and imaging parameters, and ensures compliance with safety standards.
  • Performs quality control checks on equipment; troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports malfunctions as necessary.
  • Positions patient and performs imaging procedures.
  • Analyzes results, identifies quality issues, and takes corrective action including repositioning or repeating procedures.
  • Enters, transmits, and reports scan results accurately.
  • Provides direct support in meeting departmental service levels.
  • Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
  • Provides quality patient care and works flexible shifts/units as needed.
