About The Position

Garfield County Hospital is seeking a Radiology Technician to join our team on a PRN basis! Under the general direction of the Imaging Department manager this position will prepare and perform standard x-ray examinations while using proper technique and positioning per provider orders. The technologist will also be responsible for preparing patients for exams, navigating medical records within our EHR, Athena, and notifying the manager of any equipment issues. GCHD is a rural hospital located in Pomeroy Washington. We offer 25 beds, emergency department, lab services, imaging services and a medical clinic to our local community and beyond. Our staff is dedicated and compassionate about caring for our patients and residents. We value caring, loyalty, quality, safety and family. GCHD originally opened its doors in 1948, on land the local community donated to the city. In 1999 the hospital became the first critical access hospital in the state of Washington. The hospital and clinic offer community outreach programs such as chronic disease management, diabetes education, health education and screenings, immunizations, smoking cessation and weight loss programs. Requirements

  • The successful candidate must have current ARRT Registration and WA Radiologic Technologist (RT) or Radiologic Technician (XT) credentials.

Responsibilities

  • Navigating EHR system to schedule exams and access clinical information as needed
  • Utilize system for radiologist interpretation of diagnostic imaging
  • Operate machines according to established procedures and ensure patient safety and comfort
  • Answer patient questions and concerns as they relate to the exam
  • Operate within radiologic standards of care and follow ALARA imaging principles
  • Documenting patient care records as outlined in policies and procedures
