About The Position

Good Shepherd is currently seeking a Radiology Technician to join our team. Working as part of our Diagnostic Imaging team, this position will be primarily located in our Urgent Care clinic. Requirements

  • Completion of formal Radiologic Technology accredited program.
  • Licensed in the State of Oregon as Radiologic Technologist
  • Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in radiography, or equivalent
  • Basic Life Support Certification (BLS)
  • Good general health.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, reach and occasionally lift 100 pounds or more.
  • Frequent sitting and/or standing throughout work shift required.
  • Occasionally lifts supplies/equipment.
  • Manual dexterity and mobility required.
  • Ability to operate office equipment and perform general office duties.

Responsibilities

  • Performs diagnostic radiography procedures
  • Corroborates patient's clinical history with procedure, assuring information is documented and available for use by a licensed practitioner.
  • Prepares patient for procedures; provides instructions to obtain desired results, gain cooperation, and minimize anxiety.
  • Selects and operates radiography equipment and associated devices to achieve desired results.
  • Positions patient and equipment to best demonstrate anatomic area of interest, respecting patient ability and comfort.
  • Immobilizes patients as required for appropriate examination.
  • Determines radiographic technique exposure factors, minimizing exposure to patient and others.
  • Evaluates images for technical quality, assuring proper identification is recorded.
  • Verifies informed consent for, and assists a licensed practitioner with, interventional procedures.
  • Practices aseptic techniques as necessary.
  • Assumes responsibility for provision of physical and emotional needs of patients during procedures.
  • In agreement with state statute(s) and/or where institutional policy permits: prepares, identifies, and/or administers contrast media and/or medications as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
  • Initiates basic life support action when necessary.
  • Assists licensed practitioner with Fluoroscopic and specialized interventional radiography procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
