About The Position

The position is for a full-time Radiologic Technologist at Advocate Christ Medical Center, specifically in the Radiology department. The role involves working the 2nd shift, typically from 3 PM to 11:30 PM, with alternating weekends, two holiday shifts per year, and limited call responsibilities. The pay range for this position is between $30.15 and $45.25 per hour. The technologist will be responsible for determining appropriate radiographic techniques, positioning patients, operating advanced radiographic equipment, and ensuring high-quality patient care in accordance with departmental standards.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology.
  • 2 years of radiology experience post-graduate at Christ Hospital.
  • Ability to work independently and perform sophisticated procedures with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of radiographic/fluoroscopic equipment operation.
  • Good communication skills and teamwork abilities.
  • Leadership abilities and CPR certification.
  • Licensed Radiographic Technologist by the IDNS.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience with various age groups of patients.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and confidence in performing radiology procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Determine appropriate radiographic technique and position patients using immobilization and support devices.
  • Adjust equipment and ensure optimum film quality.
  • Secure patient history regarding prescribed tests and record information for Radiologists.
  • Assist Radiologists with fluoroscopic procedures and operate portable radiographic equipment.
  • Prepare radiographic/fluoroscopic rooms for procedures and maintain equipment.
  • Coordinate patient flow in the department and transport patients as necessary.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills and maintain positive customer relations.
  • Assume leadership role in the absence of manager or coordinator.
  • Participate in team problem-solving to improve patient care and department operations.
  • Check film quality and recommend changes to improve it.
  • Participate in department meetings and assist in training students and staff.
