About The Position

This is a part-time registry position at Advocate Christ Medical Center in the Radiology department, covering 2nd and 3rd shifts. Weekend team members are required to work a minimum of four weekend shifts per month, as well as one summer holiday shift and one winter holiday shift per year. Additional hours may be available to pick up beyond the required shifts. The pay range for this position is $28.05 - $42.10.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Radiographic Technology.
  • Previous radiology experience is desirable.
  • Knowledge of Radiology Information Computer System.
  • Ability to anticipate patient, employee and department needs and refer for action.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Licensed Radiographic Technologist by the IDNS/IEMA.
  • CPR Certification.
  • ARRT Registry eligible.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience with various age groups is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Determines appropriate radiographic technique and positions patients using immobilization and support devices to ensure optimum film quality.
  • Positions patient and adjusts equipment, immobilization and support devices as necessary, using tact and courtesy at all times.
  • Determines appropriate radiographic technique based on anatomy.
  • Secures history from patient regarding reason for prescribed test, and records on appropriate form for Radiologists information.
  • Operates radiographic, fluoroscopic, portable, computed radiography and PACS equipment to ensure quality examinations.
  • Labels all images appropriately following department's established criteria and standards.
  • Uses appropriate tech markers on all radiographic images.
  • Checks radiographic quality with quality control designate prior to patients’ dismissal.
  • Documents pertinent and required information on performance improvement logs and data sheets.
  • Maintains a timely flow of patients in room assignments or work areas.
  • Transports patient when indicated to meet customer needs.
  • Maintains positive customer interaction including proper phone etiquette.
  • Follows in-and-out patient identification policy.
  • Prepares radiographic/fluoroscopic room by making sure all needed supplies and equipment are available.
  • Prepares mixtures and/or contrast media following department protocols.
  • Adheres to safety practices and provides a safe work environment for self and others.
  • Promotes patient safety by reporting issues through established channels and participating as requested in safety initiatives.
  • Attends to personal work schedule in a consistent and professional manner.
  • Demonstrates self-direction by identifying learning needs and establishing self-development activities.
  • Completes all development goals and departmental inservices and competencies, within timeframe.
  • Attends and participates in department meetings.
  • Works independently while maintaining adaptability and flexibility for change.
  • Identifies problems and takes steps toward resolution.
  • Demonstrates rapport and assists others when necessary.
