The St. Luke's Warren Radiology Department is looking for a Radiology Technical Aide to help support the departments throughput needs. The hours for this position are variable based on the department needs, however we have the most need during the AM hours in the department between 9a-5p in many incidences. Ideally, we would like potential candidates work a consistent schedule to ensure ample support is available throughout the workweek. The IR/CT Technical Aide will be responsible for assisting in patient transport, inventory of supplies as necessary, pulling of patient film folders. The aide will assist with paperwork, calling for outside films or test results, filing, and data entry. Maintains the multiviewer in the IR reading room.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• General computer skills, medical terminology and prior scheduling experience required.

Nice To Haves

• One year of hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Accurately completes the scheduling process according to the appropriate section policies and procedures.
• Contacts other facilities for outside films and reports.
• Updates RIS on film location.
• Accurately adheres to downtime procedures to assure appropriate information is available.
• Resulting in excellent continuity of care for patients.
• Assists the technologists, nursing staff and Radiologists in the preparing the patient for the radiology exam.
• Completes clerical functions including filing, reception, copying and faxing.
• Makes effective use of the telephone, fax and electronic mail systems.
• Demonstrates proper telephone techniques and etiquette
• Provides backup for Department Secretary.
• Demonstrates competency in the knowledge of the RIS/HIS modules appropriate for their job responsibilities.
• Trains in and understands sterile technique and sharps technique.
• Maintains the multiviewer in the IR reading room.
• Hangs films to be dictated, removes dictated cases and returns the jackets to the file room.
• Accountable for quality of digital images sent to PACS.
• Verify correct patient is selected from worklist, ensures accuracy of Medical Record information prior to being sent to PACS.
