About The Position

At Meritus Health’s Urgent Care clinics, timely and accurate imaging is essential to rapid diagnosis and treatment. As a Radiologic Technologist in this outpatient setting, you’ll perform a wide range of diagnostic radiology procedures for patients of all ages presenting with acute injuries and illnesses. You’ll work closely with providers to deliver high-quality images that support immediate clinical decisions in a fast-paced, walk-in environment. This role is ideal for a flexible, detail-oriented technologist who thrives in urgent care and values both technical precision and compassionate patient interaction.

Requirements

  • Completion of an Associate’s degree in Radiologic Technology or equivalent required
  • Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) required
  • Licensure by the State of Maryland as a Radiologic Technologist required
  • Current BLS (CPR) certification in compliance with Meritus Health policy
  • Proficiency in radiographic techniques and digital imaging equipment
  • Strong understanding of anatomy, positioning, and radiation safety principles
  • Ability to prepare and administer contrast medications safely
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced clinical environment
  • Commitment to patient-centered care and continuous quality improvement
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently

Nice To Haves

  • One year of experience as a radiographer preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform radiographic procedures in accordance with physician orders and established protocols
  • Operate and maintain digital radiography equipment with competence and care
  • Prepare exam rooms, organize supplies, and clean radiographic areas to ensure readiness and safety
  • Prepare patients for exams, explain procedures clearly, and assist other staff members as needed
  • Obtain and document clinical information from patients accurately
  • Observe patients and equipment during procedures, reporting any unusual occurrences immediately
  • Record pertinent patient information in QA logs, electronic systems, and reports
  • Serve as a resource to other staff, offering guidance and support as needed
  • Assist with outpatient medical assisting duties (e.g., vitals, medical history documentation) when appropriate and after demonstrated competency
