About The Position

We are seeking a Radiologic Technologist II, sometimes referred to as a Computer Tomography Tech or CT Tech. As the Radiology Technologist II you will specialize and be responsible for operating CT scanners and X-ray machines to produce cross-sectional images of patient's internal organs and tissues. You will assist in diagnosing medical conditions and the treatment plan process, by producing high-quality images that help healthcare providers make informed decisions about our patient care.

Requirements

  • Licensure and fluoroscopy permit as required by State.
  • Appropriate national certifications in two modalities required effective July 1, 2017.
  • Current BCLS (AHA).
  • Must be familiar with State and Federal regulations.
  • One year of Acute Clinical Radiography preferred.
  • Proficient computer skills.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients and ensure patients are properly positioned on the CT table and explain the procedure to them with empathy, addressing any concerns or questions they may have.
  • Operate CT scanners and/or X-ray machines to obtain images of the targeted body parts, which may involve adjusting the CT scanner settings to optimize image quality while minimizing radiation exposure, ensuring radiation safety at all times.
  • Monitor patients, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the procedure.
  • Assist other radiologists by interpreting the images produced by the CT exam and may also assist in administering contrast agents or performing certain procedures.
  • Accountable for the quality assurance of CT scanners/X-ray machines to ensure they function properly and produce accurate images.
  • Responsible for maintaining radiologic supplies, ensuring the equipment is in good operating order, and following protocols regarding infection control and hygiene.
  • Participate in Performance Improvement (PI) and Quality Control (QC) activities and assist in maintaining Performance Improvement Programs (PIP).
  • Maintain Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) and Alabama State Board of Healing Arts license.
