About The Position

The Radiology Technical Aide performs a wide variety of routine duties including clerical, non-technical and patient related functions. Radiology Technical Aide is responsible for assisting radiologists, technologists, nurses and other clinical and support staff and providing a broad range of health care services such as: patient check-in, preparation for the visit, assistance with procedures, and patient transporting. The Radiology Technical Aide may be assigned to work in a variety of imaging sections, assist multiple radiology modalities and/or clinical services per operational needs. Radiology Tech Associates are responsible for the following: Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson. Assist in Radiological rooms by giving blankets, bedpans, clothing changes, etc. to the patient and assist the technologists as needed. Inspect and replenish stock and linen in all patient care areas. Ensures adequate inventory of stock & non-stock supplies. Prepare the examination room for the next procedure. Provides back-up to the front office Registrars and film room staff and perform numerous “special projects” and clean-up tasks as assigned. Trains new transporters/escorts in proper patient care techniques. Procures appropriate patient documentation prior to leaving the nursing floor. Performs all other related duties as assigned. Competencies (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required): Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals. Physical ability to lift and position patients and assist with patient transfers utilizing beds, wheelchairs or stretchers. Ability to handle multiple tasks/projects and meets objectives and deadlines. Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and privacy. Minimum Education, Certifications and Experience Requirements: High school graduate or GED equivalent. Medical terminology knowledge preferred. Any combination of training and/or experience that will allow the incumbent to perform the listed duties. Previous medical office experience is desired. CPR Certification is required
