About The Position

HSHS St. Mary's Hospital is seeking a Radiology Tech Assistant to join our team! The Radiology Technologist Assistant is responsible for assisting radiology technologists in providing imaging procedures performed on patients in the various units of the radiology department in accordance with physicians' orders and the policies and procedures established by the hospital and other governing bodies. Position Specifics: o Department: Radiology o Core Function: Imaging o 2nd year x-ray student preferred o Schedule: Part Time 16 hours per week. 2-3 days per week M-F from 4p-8p. Can accommodate a later start if necessary, because of clinicals. And either every other or every 3rd weekend 1030a-7p o Facility: St Mary’s Hospital o Location: Decatur, IL o Compensation that aligns with your experience

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
  • Current college student or associates degree is preferred.
  • Clinical experience and a basic understanding of medical terminology is preferred.
  • Must possess good communication and human relation skills.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and skills in providing age appropriate care to those patients defined in the service’s plan for providing care.
  • Demonstrates respect for patient confidentiality and uses complete discretion with patient information.
  • Never discusses a diagnosis with the patient or others.
  • Integrates the hospital’s mission and vision into daily tasks through dedication to customer satisfaction, quality improvement and collaborative working relationships.
