Performs a wide variety of clerical and ancillary responsibilities that include but are not limited to: associated telephone duties such as accepting add-ons orders, calling “wet readings” patient appointment and exam instruction. Monitors daily patient schedules in multiple ultrasound locations, along with scheduling and registration functions. Tracks and edits all physician orders and exams to ensure correct charges, including medical necessity coding when required. Provides previous related imaging and printing, with occasion file clerk responsibilities to ensure film availability and distribution. Must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills. Key Reponsibilities: Assists with the coordination and communication of patient exam scheduling, transportation, preparation, and results management. Prepares and assembles required pre-exam paperwork, including exam order, relevant patient history/laboratory results, and patient education documentation. Serves as a patient escort as needed. Coordinates, performs, and/or assists with patient transportation including those that requires the use of wheelchairs and stretchers. Identifies patients for transportation by asking patient for name and date-of-birth and verifying this information against the patient identification band prior to movement. Assists with the completion of HIS, PACS, and Tele-radiology functions to ensure proper image reporting, billing, and image management. Assists with basic supply inventory management. Communicates supply / equipment needs to the supervisor effectively, reordering when appropriate. Performs other duties as assigned.
