About The Position

St. Luke's Warren Campus is seeking a Per-diem Radiology Technologist Aide to assist the Imaging team's throughput needs. The hours for this position will vary based on the department needs from day to day but primarily be in the daytime between 9a-1pm Mon-Fri with occasional weekends. The IR/CT Technical Aide will be responsible for assisting in patient transport, inventory of supplies as necessary, pulling of patient film folders. The aide will assist with paperwork, calling for outside films or test results, filing, and data entry. Maintains the multiviewer in the IR reading room.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent required.
  • General computer skills, medical terminology, and prior scheduling experience required.
  • One year of hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately completes the scheduling process according to the appropriate section policies and procedures.
  • Calls other facilities for outside films and reports. Updates RIS on film location.
  • Accurately adds to downtime procedures to assure appropriate information is available, resulting in excellent continuity of care for patients.
  • Assists the technologists, nursing staff, and Radiologists in preparing the patient for the radiology exam.
  • Completes clerical functions including filing, reception, copying, and faxing. Makes effective use of the telephone, fax, and electronic mail systems.
  • Demonstrates proper telephone techniques and etiquette.
  • Provides backup for Department Secretary.
  • Demonstrates competency in the knowledge of the RIS/HIS modules appropriate for their job responsibilities.
  • Trains in and understands sterile technique and sharps technique.
  • Maintains the multiviewer in the IR reading room. Hangs films to be dictated, removes dictated cases, and returns the jackets to the file room.
  • Accountable for quality of digital images sent to PACS. Verifies correct patient is selected from worklist, ensures accuracy of Medical Record information prior to being sent to PACS.
