About The Position

The Radiology Support Specialist performs a variety of clerical functions to maintain smooth operation of the Radiology clerical and film/ Image file areas. What you will do: Supports patient care in imaging services, ensures an environment of patient safety, supports evidence-based practice and quality initiatives and exhibits professionalism within established Radiology and Imaging National standards. Ensures an environment of patient safety, promotes evidence-based practice and quality initiatives and exhibits professionalism. Effectively communicate with patients, teammates, MCHS department representatives, physicians, other health providers and facilities. Functions as a liaison for internal and external departments (i.e. ED, Critical Care Units, etc.) radiologists and referring physicians. Retrieves and relays critical patient information related to exams and patient care to radiologists, physicians, other departments, and facilities. Updates records and files, using computerized filing systems, including spreadsheet data entry. Scans and digitizes paperwork and/or radiology images into multiple computer systems for archival purposes. Able to utilize PACS, PACS web, RADNET, Powerchart, Powerscribe, Epic and/or other pertinent computer systems upon completion of training.

Requirements

  • High school diploma.
  • Additional formal clerical and computer training desirable.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a health care setting
  • Excellent customer service skills and attention to detail
  • Problem solving skills and ability initiate creative solutions to problems.

Nice To Haves

  • experience with radiology PACS systems, Powerchart, Powerscribe, Epic and Microsoft Office products
