About The Position

The Supervisor, Diagnostic Radiology provides assistance and direction for all technical activities of the department as needed. Provides resource information for staff and other departments. Provides supervision for Radiology Coordinators, technologists, clerical staff and radiology assistants. This position directly manages caregivers in X-Ray, CT, Ultrasound, and support roles. This position does not directly manage other caregivers in MRI, Echo, or Nuclear Medicine, however may be asked to review and provide feedback on the work of those caregivers.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Graduate of a certified Radiologic Technology program or school.
  • Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or equivalent registration.
  • Valid Current Oregon Broad of Medical Imaging (OBRT) license.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider certification or obtain within 6 months upon hire.
  • Valid Oregon driver's license and ability to meet St. Charles Health System driving requirements.
  • Three (3) years experience in Radiology or other related modality.
  • Two (2) years successful experience in a management, lead, or supervisory role.
  • Must have excellent communication skills and ability to interact with a diverse population and professionally represent St. Charles Health System.
  • Ability to effectively interact and communicate with all levels within St. Charles Health System and external customers/clients/potential employees.
  • Strong team working and collaborative skills.
  • Ability to effectively reach consensus with a diverse population with differing needs.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational skills, written and oral communication and customer service skills, particularly in dealing with stressful personal interactions.

  • Basic to intermediate ability and experience in computer applications, specifically electronic medical records system, and MS Office.
  • Demonstrated ability and experience in computer applications, use of electronic medical record keeping systems and MS Office.

Responsibilities

  • Management duties are to provide direction and supervision for all activities in the Diagnostic Radiology area including technologists, clerical staff, and Radiology Assistants.
  • Completes evaluations and coaching plans for staff.
  • Assists with recruitment and orientation of staff.
  • Responsible for scheduling of staff and signing off timecards.
  • Serves as liaison for inpatient care areas, and outpatient clients and customers, regarding any imaging related issues or concerns.
  • Identifies and improves all imaging processes for maximum customer satisfaction and efficiency.
  • Updates or writes new procedures and work instructions related to Diagnostic Radiology.
  • Monitors EMR/billing systems for Diagnostic Radiology completing daily charge audits.
  • Monitors PACS system operations for accuracy and functionality.
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and other duties as assigned.
  • Responsible for budget development, regular monitoring, accountability and meeting all operational targets for all areas within span of control.
  • Hires, leads, coaches, and monitors the performance of all direct reports, to develop and maintain a high-performance team that meets organizational and department goals.
  • Monitors and ensures all direct reports are current with compliance and safety requirements.
  • Implements and manages all organizational safety directives and goals.
  • Provides and oversees team’s delivery of customer service in a manner that promotes goodwill, is timely, efficient, and accurate.
  • Supports the vision, mission, and values of the organization in all respects.
  • Supports Lean principles of continuous improvement with energy and enthusiasm, functioning as a champion of change.
  • Provides and maintains a safe environment for caregivers, patients, and guests.
