About The Position

General Description: Under direct supervision, will assist with radiographic services provided by the Radiology Department. Essential Responsibilities: Responsibilities listed in this section are core to the position. Perform radiology procedures provided by the Department as outlined in the Radiology Department’s Policy and Procedure Manual, according to the level of experience and under direct supervision May assist with positioning the patient, setting up the equipment and developing the exposed radiographs Operates standard and portable radiology equipment to perform radiographic examinations and fluoroscopy studies including intravenous pyelography, cystography, gastrointestinal series, body section radiography and surgical radiographic procedures Maintains records of radiological examinations as well as files of reports and radiographs Maintains inventory and equipment for area of primary responsibility with guidance and support from the staff, as needed Assists with assigned administrative tasks and maintains clinical competencies through participation in educational and orientation programs General Responsibilities: Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Must be currently enrolled in an accredited Radiology Technology program.
  • None.
  • BLS(American Heart Association) required upon hire.
  • Knowledge of radiology procedures, equipment, surface and visceral anatomy, medical terminology as it relates to radiological work, and radiation safety procedures and measures.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare team members.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with radiographic services provided by the Radiology Department
  • Perform radiology procedures provided by the Department as outlined in the Radiology Department’s Policy and Procedure Manual, according to the level of experience and under direct supervision
  • Assist with positioning the patient, setting up the equipment and developing the exposed radiographs
  • Operate standard and portable radiology equipment to perform radiographic examinations and fluoroscopy studies including intravenous pyelography, cystography, gastrointestinal series, body section radiography and surgical radiographic procedures
  • Maintain records of radiological examinations as well as files of reports and radiographs
  • Maintain inventory and equipment for area of primary responsibility with guidance and support from the staff, as needed
  • Assist with assigned administrative tasks and maintains clinical competencies through participation in educational and orientation programs
  • Perform other duties as assigned
