About The Position

As a Radiologic Student Intern, you would render patient care in a professional and courteous manner. Prepare examination rooms for radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures. The job duties also include assisting the radiologist in administering medications, contrast agents and all types of care to the patient under the supervision of a registered technologist.

Requirements

  • Second year student status in an AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology
  • Basic Life Support Certification.

Nice To Haves

  • American Society of Radiologic Technology preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors inventory of supplies during room rotation and maintain room cleanliness and neat appearance. This includes all work areas and patient dressing rooms.
  • Obtains quality radiographs of patients within the department and with all portable equipment in an acceptable timeframe. This excludes exams in the OR.
  • Demonstrates the ability to perform all necessary computer operations (i.e. Meditech and PACS). Ensure proper charges are entered and referring physician's orders are verified.
  • Complies with radiation safety guidelines for patient and self. Utilizes Personal Protective Equipment. Operates radiographic equipment safely, competently, and under the supervision of a registered technologist.
