About The Position

Requirements

  • Strong oral and written communication skills with an ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff and visitors.
  • Strong analytical skills to collect and analyze operational data.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a management/supervisory position in a hospital.
  • Knowledge of Title 22 and hospital JCAHO requirements.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated experience with budgetary processes including establishing, maintaining, and reporting income, expenses, and variances.
  • Basic life support (BLS) certification.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and management experience.
  • Ability to successfully identify priorities while managing multiple assignments simultaneously.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System.

Nice To Haves

  • Unit Specific Certification.
  • MBA, MHA or MHSA or equivalent combination of education and management experience.
  • Lean Six Sigma Training.
  • Knowledge of UCI Medical Center policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the throughput on a daily basis by actively managing patient flow.
  • Provide leadership to the assigned modalities, strategizing processes and standards to ensure operations that support key organizational and departmental initiatives.
  • Promote quality of care, continuous performance improvement, patient safety, and patient satisfaction.
  • Serve as a role model for excellent service by training and reinforcing behaviors and standards among the staff.
  • Promote collegiality and teamwork by serving as a liaison between assigned units and other departments.
  • Continuously collaborate with various modalities within Radiology to ensure overall operations exceed expectations.
  • Identify and set unit performance goals and intervene as necessary to ensure performance targets are met.
  • Plan and manage unit budgets, implementing strategies for improvement of resource utilization.
  • Ensure staff are well-trained and motivated, accountable for recruitment and retention efforts, hiring, coaching, training, counseling, performance evaluations, competency assessments, and work standards.
