About The Position

We are seeking a detail‑oriented, patient‑focused Medical Imaging Scheduler to support a high‑volume healthcare scheduling team. This role plays a critical part in helping reduce a current backlog of work while delivering an exceptional experience to patients, families, and internal clinical partners. This position handles high‑volume inbound and outbound calls (100+ per day) and is responsible for scheduling medical imaging appointments, completing patient registration, and ensuring accurate documentation in Epic. The role supports multiple imaging modalities and works closely with patients, parents, providers, nurses, and internal teams.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 2+ Years of Radiology Scheduling experience
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Experience working with clinicians, nurses, and providers.
  • Healthcare call center experience preferred (high‑volume phone environment).
  • Experience with Epic is a plus; other EMR systems are acceptable.
  • Comfortable multitasking, navigating complex charts, and handling a variety of call types.
  • Strong attention to detail, critical thinking skills, and a patient‑first mindset.
  • Enjoys patient interaction, problem‑solving, and providing a high level of service to families.

Nice To Haves

  • Healthcare call center experience preferred (high‑volume phone environment).
  • Experience with Epic is a plus; other EMR systems are acceptable.

Responsibilities

  • Answer and manage a high volume of inbound and outbound calls related to medical imaging scheduling and registration.
  • Schedule appointments for multiple imaging modalities, including X‑ray, Ultrasound, MRI, CT (Pediatrics), and Nuclear Medicine, following established guidelines.
  • Create and update patient charts in Epic, accurately entering demographics, insurance information, and appointment details.
  • Verify insurance eligibility, obtain referrals as required, and collect outstanding patient liabilities (copays, estimates, balances, self‑pay).
  • Transcribe referrals received via phone or fax into Epic and submit for clinical triage per departmental guidelines.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for patients, parents, providers, nurses, and internal partners, responding to questions and routing requests appropriately.
  • Facilitate electronic and non‑electronic communication, ensuring families understand next steps for their visit.
  • Maintain productivity, quality, and customer service standards while meeting department KPIs.
  • Adhere to HIPAA guidelines, confidentiality standards, and organizational core values at all times.
