About The Position

The Registered Staff Nurse (RN) provides professional, patient-centered nursing care by applying clinical knowledge, judgement, and skills to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans. As the primary caregiver, the Registered Staff Nurse (RN) collaborates with members of the healthcare team, including patients, and members of their support system, to achieve optimal outcomes. The Registered Staff Nurse (RN) practices within the scope defined by Section 4723.01 of the Ohio Revised Code, including assessing health status, executing nursing regimens, providing health counseling and teaching, administering prescribed treatments, and supervising or delegating nursing tasks. The Registered Staff Nurse (RN) adheres to the Standards for Competent Practice of the Ohio Administrative Code, demonstrating competence and accountability in all areas of practice, recognizing and responding to complications, implementing valid orders, or seeking clarification when necessary, while maintaining patient confidentiality and safety. The role functions under the direct supervision of the Department Manager and the indirect oversight of the Director of Nursing.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an Accredited Program.
  • Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred. Effective 9/1/2022 for all New Hires - BSN required within 5 years.
  • BLS, Registered Nurse with Current Ohio License Required.
  • 2 years Nursing Experience in an acute care setting or previous experience in a relevant care setting preferred.

  • ACLS Preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts thorough patient assessments and develops individualized care plans based on clinical data, patient goals, and current evidence-based guidelines.
  • Delivers nursing interventions and treatments per plan of care and provider orders. Continuously evaluates patient responses and adjusts care accordingly. Ensures accurate and timely documentation.
  • Integrates current research, clinical expertise, and patient preferences to guide decision-making. Actively participates in performance improvement and quality initiatives.
  • Consistently embodies the principles of a High Reliability Organization (HRO) by fostering a culture of safety, mindfulness, and accountability throughout all aspects of care.
  • Delegates tasks safely and appropriately to LPNs and assistive personnel in compliance with Ohio Administrative Code (OAC 4723-13). Provides oversight and follow-up.
  • Works collaboratively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary care team. Maintains open, respectful, and clear communication.
  • Adheres to nursing standards, organizational policies, and ethical guidelines. Maintains required licensure, certifications, and continuing education.
  • Uses time, equipment, and supplies efficiently while delivering high-quality care. Supports cost-effective care without compromising patient outcomes.
  • Provides clear, culturally competent education to patients and families. Advocates for patients' rights, safety, and informed decision-making.
  • Recognizes and responds to emergent situations promptly and competently, supporting team-based interventions.
