About The Position

Tanner Clinic is has an immediate need for a PRN Radiology Practical Tech to work at our multiple locations. Essential Job Responsibilities: Prepare patients for radiologic procedures. Use equipment and accessories; employs techniques and procedures; demonstrates expertise in minimizing radiation exposure to the patient, self and staff. Select proper ionizing factors for radiological diagnosis, utilizing established protocols. Check radiographs for clarity of image, proper patient identification; correct markers used; annotation of images. Repeat radiograph when needed. Review x-ray order for specifics including correct body part and pertinent history. Contact physician office for clarification regarding order. Asses situations; exercise care, discretion and judgment; assumes responsibility for professional decisions; and acts in the best interest of the patient. Maintain required records including daily log books and monthly reports. Perform daily equipment warm-up procedure and quality control checks to assure x-ray unit is in good working order. Complies with safety standards outlined by state laws. Act as an agent through observation and communication to obtain pertinent information for the physician to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of the patient. Recognizes that interpretation and diagnosis are outside the scope of practice for the profession. Clean, maintain and report equipment repair issues to ensure that the equipment is repaired quickly. Maintain radiographic department supplies. Prepare patient for fluoroscopy procedures; Assist with arthograms; obtain consent; explains to the patient what is involved in the procedure including risks. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Graduate of Radiology Practical Technician course; pass Utah state exam for RPT.
  • Utah State Radiology Practical Technician License (completion of all of the following tested sections: chest, extremity, abdomen, spine and skull.
  • Possess effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Possess the ability to work independently during urgent care hours.
  • Must be capable of handling multiple tasks effectively and able to maintain a professional demeanor during stressful situations.
  • Possess effective written, verbal, and communication skills.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
