About The Position

This position assists with patient care flow and activities which support the department’s clinical functions. Duties include, but not are not limited to:

Updating patients and visitors on their wait times for procedures according to CVH customer service standards.
Transporting patients to and from departments for medical imaging procedures.
Working with the staff to determine other patient care needs.

Per Diem positions have no guaranteed hours or set schedule. The position will fill in for individuals who take unplanned and/or planned time off.

Requirements

• High School education or equivalent.
• BLS certificate required (or obtain within 90 days of hire).
• Professional customer service skills.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Good organizational and multi-tasking skills.
• Ability to read and communicate in English, bilingual abilities preferred.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience working in a hospital setting highly preferred.
• Medical terminology and/or medical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reviews the department's record keeping system and recommends changes and/or updates as needed.
• Get pillows and blankets for patient as needed.
• Answer phones as needed.
• Transport patients to and from other departments as needed.
• Answers and directs phone calls in a professional manner in regards to transferring of calls, taking messages, or following up with clients and returning calls.
• Demonstrates professional phone etiquette.
• Uses good organizational and multi-tasking skills.
• Daily communication with personnel from all departments for the purpose of scheduling diagnostic tests and treatments.
• Daily communication with physicians, nurses, visitors, and patients.
