About The Position

Position summary: The CT assistant helps to provide assistance to the technologists in the CT department as needed to improve the workflow and patient experience. This role focuses primarily on transporting patients, greeting patients, pre-procedure phone calls, preparing orders, and activities of the daily workflow. The CT assistant performs receptionist, secretarial, housekeeping, and restocking duties and serves as communication liaison in the department. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred
  • Prior patient care experience preferred.
  • Must provide proof of Basic Life Support (BLS Healthcare Provider, American Heart Association; or American Red Cross, Professional Rescuer-LIVE class only) via current card prior to employment or within 60 days of hire and maintains current status.
  • Completes Mandatory Reporting: Child and Dependent Adult Abuse requirement within 6 months of hire and renews this requirement every 3 years.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with patient’s needs such as escorting to and from CT department as well as to other appointments.
  • Calls patients prior to their appointment to confirm details, preparations, and answer questions.
  • Obtain/review written orders prior to patient exam.
  • Transports patients using proper body mechanics and assistive devices as needed.
  • Cleans and stocks CT rooms.
  • Provides for patient comfort, safety, and protects dignity, privacy, and confidentiality.
