About The Position

Under general supervision of the Radiology Manager and in accordance with established policies and procedures, performs clerical and service duties necessary to register, schedule and log patients coming to the department for tests. Patient & Front Desk Support: Provides patient-related clerical services including greeting patients and visitors, answering phones, registering patients for diagnostic testing, managing scheduling information, and maintaining confidentiality. Communication & Coordination: Effectively exchanges information with hospital staff, physician offices, and patients regarding exam times, test preparation, and service requests, ensuring timely and accurate communication. Clerical & Technical Support: Performs departmental clerical duties such as order entry, operating PACS Cube, maintaining x-ray files, developing films under supervision, ordering supplies, and running errands. Quality, Safety & Compliance: Maintains a safe and professional environment by following infection control standards, National Patient Safety Goals, hospital policies, and applicable laws while demonstrating ethical conduct and sound judgment. Teamwork & Continuous Improvement: Functions as a dependable team member, contributes ideas and feedback, participates in performance improvement initiatives, maintains professional appearance, and pursues ongoing skill development.

Requirements

  • Level of knowledge equivalent to that ordinarily acquired through completion of high School.
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Clerical ability necessary to complete and maintain department records, prepare reports, and tabulate data.
  • Clerical skills include but are not limited to: keyboarding with accuracy at a minimum of 40 words per minute, filing, write/print legibly, and computer/printer operation skills.
  • Must be able to accurately enter information into the MediTech order/entry module for Radiology orders and MediTech admitting/registration module.
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to frequently interact in a courteous manner with patients, family members, visitors, Hospital employees, and physicians.
  • Must be capable of organizing workforce and coordinating jobs in order to expedite patient procedures.
  • Must be able to tactfully and skillfully communicate with other associates in coordinating work.
