About The Position

This role provides assistance with direct patient care in the Radiology Department at Essentia Health–Fargo, a full-service regional medical center. The hospital is a 133-bed facility featuring a birthing center, a 10-bed newborn intensive care unit, and a 24/7 emergency department. It is also designated as a Level II Trauma Center and a Comprehensive Stroke Center. The position involves performing specialized tasks under the supervision of technologists and/or radiologists, but does not include administering ionizing radiation, intravenous contrast media, or prescribed pharmacy medications. Key duties include patient reception, registration, appointment and procedure/lab scheduling, and clinical information management. The assistant is expected to interact with patients in an effective and age-appropriate manner.

Requirements

No educational requirements
Obtain Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification within 90 days of hire

Responsibilities

Provides assistance with direct patient care in the Radiology Department
Will not administer ionizing radiation, intravenous contrast media, and/or prescribed pharmacy medications
Performs specialized tasks under the supervision of technologists and/or radiologists
Patient reception by phone registration and/or registration confirmation
Appointment and procedure/lab scheduling
Related clinical information management
Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to interact with the patients in a way that is effective and appropriate to the age and developmental level of the involved patient population
