About The Position

Located in beautiful Northern California, Adventist Health Clear Lake has been a leading healthcare provider in Lake County since 1968. We are comprised of a 25-bed critical access hospital and provide primary and specialty care services at clinics throughout the area to best serve our community. Lake County is home to Clear Lake, California's largest natural freshwater lake, surrounded by charming small towns, beautiful mountains, vineyards and orchards. This area is perfect for outdoor enthusiasts, with some of the best bass fishing, rural trails for hiking and biking, all the while being only two hours from the San Francisco Bay Area, Sacramento Valley or Pacific Coast. Job Summary: Supports technologists with ongoing patient care, including assisting, transporting, moving and supervising patients in the radiology department. Helps manage the imaging department's patient flow. This position is represented by RCHEA.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Safely transports and assists patients between other departments and waiting areas.
  • Assists patients from wheelchair to exam table, stretcher or toilet and back as needed.
  • Provides direct patient care as directed by technologists or radiologists, in conjunction with all imaging procedures.
  • Reviews physician orders, researches lab values and provides patient education as directed by technologists.
  • Helps manage the imaging department's patient flow.
  • Familiarizes self with all department computer systems and programs, under the supervision of technologists.
  • Transports and assists patients between other departments and waiting areas.
  • Position and assists patients on and off exam tables and escorts patients to the restroom.
  • Familiarizes self with the hospital's "Lift" equipment.
  • Processes paperwork, prints and logs camera QC for nuclear medicine.
  • Develops and assembles films in preparation for reading.
  • Assists the imaging clerical staff as needed.
  • Adheres to Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other patient confidentiality guidelines and regulations.
  • Cleans and disinfects equipment and exam rooms, following infection control guidelines.
  • Keeps stretchers and wheelchairs clean and blanket warmers and linens stocked.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
