About The Position

The Radiology Assistant - Transport PRN at Mayo Clinic is responsible for providing patient transportation to and from various departments within the healthcare facility. This role requires knowledge of transport equipment and safe patient handling, ensuring patient safety during transportation. The assistant will work flexible hours, including days, evenings, nights, holidays, and weekends, and will assist in additional duties to promote efficiency in the radiology department.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.
• Basic Life Support Certification required upon hire and must be valid for 90 days or greater from start date.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong commitment to customer service required.
• Ability to work independently and in a group setting with minimal supervision.
• Minimum of six months hospital experience preferred.

• Experience in a healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient transportation to and from inpatient, ambulatory, and ancillary departments.
• Transports patients using wheelchair, stretcher, or bed while ensuring their safety.
• Demonstrates knowledge of transport equipment and safe patient handling techniques.
• Assists modalities in additional duties to encourage efficiency, including checking equipment and reporting malfunctions.
• Maintains knowledge of policies on Standard Precautions, MRI safety, and medical emergency response.
