About The Position

A Radiology Assistant assists MRI technologists by preparing imaging rooms, transporting patients, positioning them for examinations, providing basic patient care, maintaining patient records, and performing clerical duties within a radiology department, all under the supervision of a licensed MRI Tech essentially acting as a support staff member to ensure smooth patient flow during imaging procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma
• BLS
• Licensed CNA in Kansas or completion of a Medical Assistant program

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all MR safety guidelines.
• Escorting patients to and from the imaging room.
• Verifying patient identity and explaining procedures in basic terms.
• Providing comfort and support to patients during procedures.
• Setting up imaging equipment and supplies for the scheduled exam.
• Ensuring the room is clean and sanitized between patients.
• Maintaining patient records, including data entry and filing
• Scheduling appointments for patient and coordinating with other departments
• Answering phone calls and addressing patient inquiries
• Assisting the technologist with patient positioning during imaging procedures
• Maintaining inventory of supplies
• Preforms other duties as assigned
