About The Position
Radiologist Practitioner Assistants are experienced, registered Radiographers who have additional training and certifications to work as Radiologist Extenders. The area of responsibility includes leading roles in patient management and assessment, determining whether a patient has been appropriately prepared for a procedure, and adapting exam protocols to improve diagnostic quality. They make informed decisions about diagnostic and therapeutic interventions based on patient information and preferences, up-to-date scientific evidence, clinical judgement, and ethical principles. The role also involves performing fluoroscopic exams and procedures under the supervision of a Radiologist, as well as evaluating image quality, making initial image observations, and forwarding those observations to the supervising Radiologist.
