Position Summary: We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Radiological Services Attendant. In this role, the successful candidate Assists Technologist with preparing patients and exam areas for various radiologic examinations. Maintains equipment, supply levels and cleanliness of exam rooms. Receives guidance from Manager/Supervisor and Lead Technologist.

Requirements

• 1 year healthcare-related experience, must include customer service experience with direct patient contact.
• Demonstrated ability and knowledge of proper body mechanics in order to lift patients.
• Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge of the organizations mission and core values and incorporates them into the performance of duties.
• Assists with other duties as required including answering phones taking messages, administering surveys, etc.
• Ensures the exam rooms are sufficiently stocked and neat; changes linen bags throughout the day and replenishes linen and other supplies as needed.
• Cleans the rooms after every patient.
• Demonstrates skill in using the hospital and radiology information systems as they relate to radiology.
• Uses standard procedures to identify the correct patient.
• Asks patient to confirm his/her identity by stating their first name.
• Introduces self to the patient in a pleasant and courteous manner.
• Gives patient appropriate gown/shorts for examination requested.
• May assist to lift and transfer patient onto the exam table.
• Provides for patient comfort before, during and after the procedure, which may include: staying with the patient while the technologist leaves the room.
• Recognizes need for and follows isolation precautions.
• Serves as a liaison between front desk, lead technologists, RNs, physicians and patients.
• Escorts patients from waiting area to changing rooms to procedure rooms.
• Prepares patient for procedure.
• Gathers and sets up equipment and supplies according to departmental procedures; notifies Technologist of patient arrival.
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Position requires the ability to lift, push, pull, or move patients and equipment in excess of 150 pounds, with or without the use of assistive devices.
