ProSidian Seeks a Radiological Control Inspectors - Radiological / Safety / QA (Time and Materials | Non-Exempt) to support an engagement for a liquid waste contractor (Savannah River Remediation [SRR]) at the Savannah River Site in Aiken, SC, which is owned by the U.S. Department of Energy. This service supports Environmental Management Sector Clients and ProSidian Team Members work as part of a Engagement Team Cadre to fulfill T&M - Time and Materials (T&M) requirements. The Radiation Control Technician as a SCA Grade position (DOL / SCA Occupation Code: 30395 | Job Code: RC100) The purpose of the position is to provide technical and practical support in the area of Radiation Protection. Functions including but not limited to: Perform a contamination survey Perform a radiation survey Document RWP surveys Provide routine/non-routine radiological job coverage Decontamination of equipment and supplies Radioactive waste handling Track radioactive materials transfer Conduct air, water and soil samples for radioactive contamination Perform sample analysis Radiological monitoring equipment support Radiological Control Inspectors - Radiological / Safety / QA Candidates shall work to support requirements for Technical General Support Services (GSSC) related to NAICS: 541690 - Environmental Consulting Services, NAICS: 541690 - Scientific and Technical Consulting Services - Energy, and NAICS: 591690 - Professional Scientific Technical Consulting Services. This position provides radiological support coverage for maintenance, operational, and routine work that involves radioactive materials. Technician monitors work area for radiation and contamination as required by procedures and regulations. Specialty instruments are used to monitor and control environmental radiation as well as radiological monitoring, protection, and mitigation of personnel. Incumbent conducts surveys for free release of materials, contamination, and radioactivity to categorize waste for shipment. The Radiation Control Technician provides work coverage, writes work permits, enforces principles and control requirements, and responds to radiological emergencies as required. Incumbent validates safe conduct of radiological work in confines of facility and surveys materials and vehicles as needed. This position serves as a mentor/advisor to facility personnel conducting radiological work. Position is responsible for performing ongoing Radiation Control surveillance/assessments and providing evaluations to foremen and supervisors related to the adequacy of the Worker Radiological Training and the work organization implementation of program maintenance of proficiency.
