The position involves operating diagnostic imaging equipment and performing diagnostic imaging procedures in accordance with department policy and procedures. The technologist will operate within the Standards of Ethics of the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) and the Clinical Practice Standards established by the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT). The role requires collaboration with physicians to perform a variety of specialized procedures, setting up and adjusting equipment to perform diagnostic procedures, and positioning patients to obtain images of the area of interest while respecting their ability and comfort. Additionally, the technologist will obtain appropriate patient information for the procedure, provide radiation protection to all involved, recognize emergent situations, and assist other areas and shifts as needed, all while adhering to Parkview Standards of Behavior.
