About The Position

Emerging Tech is seeking an experienced Radiologic Technologist to provide on-site diagnostic imaging services at the VA Medical Center in San Francisco, CA. You’ll play a key role in delivering timely, accurate imaging exams while supporting the VA’s mission-driven healthcare environment. Work directly under the guidance of VA Radiologists and clinical leadership, performing imaging in outpatient, inpatient, and emergency settings while maintaining high standards of patient care and safety.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program (JRCERT or equivalent).
  • Current ARRT certification in Radiography.
  • Active, full, and unrestricted California Radiologic Technologist license.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience performing independent radiographic procedures in a clinical setting.
  • Proficiency with PACS, DICOM, and electronic medical record systems.
  • Strong knowledge of radiation safety and patient care standards.
  • Fluent in English (read, write, and speak).
  • Ability to meet all VA credentialing, onboarding, background, and annual training requirements.
  • Qualifications subject to VA Chief Radiology Administrator review and approval.
  • Must comply with all VA radiology standards, safety policies, and infection control procedures.
  • Maintain required CME/CEU credits to keep certifications current.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic radiographic (X-ray) exams following VA policies, ARRT standards, and Joint Commission requirements.
  • Prepare, position, and educate patients to ensure safe, accurate, and comfortable exams.
  • Operate imaging equipment according to manufacturer specifications and VA-approved protocols.
  • Ensure radiation safety, infection control, and proper use of protective equipment.
  • Review images for quality and completeness before submission for Radiologist interpretation.
  • Document exams and patient interactions in VA electronic health records and PACS systems.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and fully functional imaging rooms and equipment.
  • Collaborate with Radiologists, nurses, and support staff to ensure coordinated patient care.
  • Communicate urgent or abnormal findings to Radiologists per VA protocol.
