About The Position

JOB SUMMARY: The Registered Radiologic Technologist is responsible for the administration of ionizing radiation to patients for diagnostic purposes and fulfilling the goals and objectives of Advanced Pain Care.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology
  • Current registration with ARRT and successful completion of Basic Life Support
  • Knowledge of X-ray equipment
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work with complex computers and machinery
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to exercise judgment and make decisions under pressure
  • Ability to manage time well
  • Ability to handle confidential patient information
  • Ability to document accurately and precisely
  • Ability to produce high quality images consistently
  • Good visual acuity, accurate color vision.
  • Ability to lift/transfer patients in excess of 100 pounds, which may require pushing, pulling, and essentially utilizing a full range of body movement.
  • Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch and/or crawl.
  • Ability to reach, grasp, use fine finger movement and feel fine sensation to discern temperature, texture, size and shape.
  • Computer skills preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Three to five years of radiologic technologist experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Performs diagnostic procedures on patients to meet the established practice parameters and standards of care
  • Utilizes proper positioning of patients, proper image identification, professional patient care and assessment and maintains proper documentation
  • Prepares patients for exams by communicating the need to remove garments or jewelry that may interfere with procedure, and explaining how the process works
  • Adheres to medical and standard precautions as required per procedure
  • Performs clerical duties, transports patients as required and processes images
  • Administers contrast media and other medications as directed
  • Assists with quality control/performance improvement, including maintaining radiographic equipment
  • Closely follows provider instructions and apply knowledge of anatomy and physiology to the process in order to help provider diagnose problems
  • Use radiation safety measures and protection devices to comply with government regulations and ensure safety of patients and staff members
  • Monitor video display of area being scanned and monitor patients’ conditions and reactions to procedures, reporting abnormal signs to physician
  • Adheres to all Advanced Pain Care policies and procedures
  • Has regular and predictable attendance
  • Performs other duties as assigned
