Requirements

  • Must have passed or is eligible for the examination of the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiography.
  • Continued employment is provisional based on completion and certification by the ARRT within six months.
  • Registered technologists must be in good standing
  • Maintains BLS certification with biannual renewal
  • Munson Healthcare requires all employees be vaccinated or have lab confirmed immunity for Measles, Mumps, Rubella and Varicella.
  • MHC also requires all employees to receive a flu vaccine during the flu season in the year that they are hired and annually thereafter, or receive an approved medical or religious exemption.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience as a Staff Technologist preferred, but not required
  • Previous experience in any Radiology subspecialty desirable, such as Special Procedures, Mammography, Nuclear Medicine, MRI, CT or Ultrasound

Responsibilities

  • Ensure Safety & Professional Conduct: Follow all safety guidelines, use proper body mechanics, report unsafe conditions, maintain a professional appearance, and adhere to radiation safety standards including ALARA, collimation, and patient shielding.
  • Provide High-Quality Patient Care: Care for patients from arrival to departure, communicate respectfully, ensure patient comfort and safety, properly transfer and position patients, and assist in emergencies or first aid when needed.
  • Perform Diagnostic Imaging Procedures: Operate radiology equipment safely, choose proper technical factors, select and load imaging cassettes, produce high-quality radiographs, and assist physicians with contrast media and sterile procedures.
  • Maintain Equipment, Rooms & Records: Keep exam rooms clean and stocked, prevent cross-contamination, handle equipment responsibly, report malfunctions, and complete related clerical tasks including documentation as required.
  • Support Department Operations & Ongoing Learning: Rotate shifts and departments as needed, take on-call duty, assume delegated responsibilities in the absence of leadership, and participate in continuing education and professional development.
