About The Position

Responsible for performing radiographic procedures using imaging modalities applying prescribed ionizing radiation for diagnostic procedures in the hospital and long-term care facilities, on patients of all ages (neonate, infant, toddler, child, adolescent, young adult, adult, geriatric). Operates radiographic equipment, develops film, applies principals of radiation safety for patients, general public and self, evaluates radiographs for technical quality. Exercises professional judgment in the performance of procedures. Recognizes patient conditions requiring immediate action and initiates life support measures. Aids in the orientation and education of radiology department and hospital staff. Participates in performance improvement activities to assure highest standards of care.

Requirements

  • Graduate of accredited Radiologic Technology program. (Or senior radiologic technology student)
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT). Registry eligible or senior radiologic technology student preparing to take the registry exam.
  • Radiologic technology clinical training.
  • Ability to think and work effectively under stress with frequent interruptions
  • to move, sit, stand, walk and bend intermittently throughout the work day
  • lift and/or move up to 50—75lbs
  • Must possess sight and hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these sources to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met
  • Use of mechanical and technical equipment required for the responsibilities assigned
  • External and internal applicants who become disabled, must be able to perform the essential job functions either unaided or with the assistance of a reasonable accommodation to be determined on a case by case basis
  • Position has an expected exposure to blood borne pathogens
