About The Position

Blue Ridge Health is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to join our team in Hendersonville, NC! What You'll Do: This position is responsible for completing X-Rays for various diagnostic purposes. Will work in tandem with the rest of the clinical team to ensure patient care, satisfaction and safety.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • AART Registered Technologist required
  • CPR Certified
  • Experienced with radiological standards, rules, and regulations.
  • Experienced with radiological safety, cleanliness and infection control policies.
  • Knowledge of radiological equipment maintenance and upkeep.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree or higher preferred.
  • Radiologic Technologist experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares patients for radiologic procedures.
  • Escorts patients to x-ray room and explains procedures to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation.
  • Screens patients for potential pregnancy
  • Prepares patients for x-ray procedures by positioning patient; adjusting immobilization devices; moving equipment into specified position; adjusting equipment controls to set exposure factors
  • Operates radiologic equipment.
  • Performs all x-ray examinations, practicing radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to the patient and staff.
  • Selects the appropriate exposure technique factors for the patient’s size and condition, to ensure adequate image quality and diagnosis while operating under the ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principle.
  • Minimizes risk to patient and staff by practicing radiation protection techniques, patient shielding, and knowledge of exposure factors.
  • Checks images for clarity of image, retaking when needed.
  • Distributes studies to appropriate medical staff.
