About The Position

The Radiologic Technologist (RT) position is a full-time or part-time, non-exempt (hourly) position at the Center for the Functional Restoration of the Spine (CFRS).  CFRS is an Orthopedic-Spine specialty practice with clinical sites in Shrewsbury, Toms River, and Edison, New Jersey.  We offer onsite x-ray, as well as interventional pain management procedures utilizing a fluoroscopy unit (C-Arm).  The Radiologic Technologist plays a vital role in our practice, as they are responsible for performing all radiographic examinations while adhering to radiology protocols.  In addition, the Radiologic Technologist assists the physicians with in-office procedures utilizing the C-Arm/Fluoroscopy.   Assist patients in preparing and positioning for radiologic procedures. Operate radiologic imaging equipment safely.   Maintain all inspections and perform regular quality control procedures and maintenance.  Record all patient information in radiology information systems.  The RT will support all healthcare personnel as needed.

Requirements

  • Certification as a radiologic technologist from an accredited institution, High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of one year experience in radiologic technologist or related experience.
  • Current New Jersey state license for Radiologic Technologist.
  • Minimum one year experience specialization in C-Arm and Fluoroscopy required, previous Orthopedic or Orthopedic Spine experience preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
  • In-depth knowledge of radiology protocols and imaging equipment.
  • Ability to work with the public and provide a high standard of patient care.
  • Familiarity with radiology software/PACS.
  • Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT codes.
  • Knowledge of medical practice management software (for example: Athena, Cerner, ECW, Epic) and electronic health records.
  • Working knowledge of fax machines, copiers, scanners.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with sensitivity and accuracy.
  • Requires prolonged standing, sitting, bending, reaching, and lifting (up to 50 lbs.)

Nice To Haves

  • Fluency in Spanish, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate radiologic images for quality and accuracy.
  • Provide patients with radiation protection equipment and ensure they comply with safety and hygiene standards.
  • Perform radiographic room disinfection and ensure general cleanliness of exam areas.
  • Ensure that imaging equipment is in optimum operating order, notify the Practice Director when service is needed.
  • Label images in the radiology information system (PACS) according to organizations’ standards.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and OSHA regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned such as assisting with rooming of patients, ordering of supplies and stocking rooms, as well as answering the phones based on practice need.
  • Uploading of MRI and CT Discs into the patients PACS chart.
