About The Position

Here at Fairview, we are now seeking a Radiologic Technologist to join our team at University of Minnesota Medical Center - East Bank in Minneapolis, MN! This is a Baylor (work 48 hours per 2 weeks, paid for 72) position that will work every Friday and Saturday from 7PM - 7AM. The Hospital Radiologic Technologist provides services to patients and physicians through the creation of high-quality diagnostic imaging in a hospital setting. Responsible for providing quality age-appropriate patient care for inpatients and outpatients according to established standards of practice and works collaboratively with all members of the health care team. The hospital radiologic technologist supports all imaging procedures, surgical cases, fluoroscopy studies, portable x-ray, and general x-ray performed in the hospital. Provides assist in the opening of the supplies/equipment for surgical and special procedure cases as well as responding to codes, trauma activations and other emergent needs for imaging in an acute care environment. This position will adhere to a Baylor Schedule which will be designated by the hospital.

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited radiologic technology program.
  • ARRT Radiology Tech
  • Basic Life Support (American Heart Assoc or Red Cross)

Nice To Haves

  • B.S./B.A.
  • 3 years experience as a technologist in a hospital setting
  • Advanced Imaging modality certification
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Accurately performs diagnostic exams and procedures
  • Identifies relevant data from images accurately.
  • Communicates pertinent data clearly to appropriate health care professionals
  • Verify patient identification and documentation
  • Communicate with and educate patient regarding pertinent information during all aspects of service
  • Completes quality diagnostic images through correct patient positioning and use of technical factors according to protocol.
  • Performs accurate image marking and digital image manipulation and archiving
