About The Position

Radiologic Technologists work as members of the X-ray team, reporting to the X-Ray Manager. This role provides X-Ray, Fluoroscopy and C-Arm based imaging to patients and supports the patient experience throughout their time at GLMI. Effective communication between departments and exemplary patient care must be maintained. This role performs a variety of tasks beyond X-Ray imaging including: patient calls, documentation in charts, and assisting with both patient and other co-worker needs.

Requirements

  • Experience in radiology and medical terminology
  • Operate standard office equipment such as fax machine, copier, scanner etc.
  • Strong computer skills including use of information systems and Google based programs
  • Effective problem solving skills, confident customer service skills and diplomacy
  • Maintain strong oral communication skills including both phone and in person
  • Associates in Applied Science, Radiologic Technology from ARRT approved program
  • New York State Radiologic Technology License or valid temporary license
  • Valid BLS Certification
  • ARRT Certification when eligible
  • Must have the ability to pull, push and lift patients and equipment.
  • Standing, walking, sitting, keyboard use for long periods of time
  • Ability to listen and communicate with patients face to face or over the phone
  • Will be required to read, write, work in a fast-paced office setting
  • Ability to make decisions and think quickly
  • Must have mental and physical capabilities to perform all tasks listed above

Responsibilities

  • CR and DR x-ray procedures
  • Fluoroscopy
  • Bone Density
  • C-arm, pain management and Interventional Radiology procedures.
  • Communicates with patients regarding medical history, symptoms and explanation of procedures with associated documentation.
  • Enters data in Radiology Information System, assuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Verifies accuracy of orders prior to examining the patient.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly work area.
  • Maintains quality control processes when necessary and ensures the safety of patients in the department.
  • Performs quarterly quality assurance testing to ensure and maintain equipment compliance.
  • Attends to the medical needs of patients at all times and maintains patient modesty at all times.
  • Helps fellow technologists and other departments when not busy with x-ray/fluoro duties.
  • Restocks supplies and maintains inventory at all applicable sites.
  • Operates standard imaging equipment and supporting equipment including but not limited to: R&F Machine C-arm Machine PC Computer iPad/Tablet PACS/RIS Computer CD burner
  • Overtime may be required, as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
