About The Position

Here at Fairview, we are now seeking a Radiologic Technologist to join our team at Fairview Lakes Medical Center in Wyoming, MN! This is a .6 FTE (48 hours per 2 weeks) position that will work Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 8AM - 4:30PM with a possible on-call rotation (subject to change). The Hospital Radiologic Technologist provides services to patients and physicians through the creation of high-quality diagnostic imaging in a hospital setting. Responsible for providing quality age-appropriate patient care for inpatients and outpatients according to established standards of practice and works collaboratively with all members of the health care team. The hospital radiologic technologist supports all imaging procedures, surgical cases, fluoroscopy studies, portable x-ray, and general x-ray performed in the hospital. Provides assist in the opening of the supplies/equipment for surgical and special procedure cases as well as responding to codes, trauma activations and other emergent needs for imaging in an acute care environment.

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited radiologic technology program
  • ARRT Certification/Registration
  • Basic Life Support (American Heart Assoc or Red Cross) before date of hire

Nice To Haves

  • B.S./B.A.
  • 3 years experience as a technologist in a hospital setting
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Performs examinations
  • Identifies relevant data from images accurately.
  • Communicates pertinent data clearly to the appropriate health care professional
  • Participates in creating a culture of patient safety
  • Verify patient identification and documentation
  • Communicate with and educate patient regarding pertinent information during all aspects of exam
  • Achieves quality diagnostic images through correct patient positioning and use of technical factors according to protocol.
  • Accurately completes computer functions; edits, scheduling, billing, status changes and image transfers in a timely manner
