About The Position

The Radiologic Technologist (RADT) performs diagnostic imaging and clinical laboratory procedures, ensuring accurate results, patient safety, and compliance with regulatory standards. This role provides radiology services, laboratory testing, and patient assessments while maintaining equipment, records, and quality control programs. The RADT serves as a liaison with off-site laboratories and vendors, supports radiation safety initiatives, and contributes to overall clinic operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Certification in the State of Mississippi as a Radiologic Technologist or Technician with at least 2 years of acceptable experience in accordance with state regulations.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow precise instructions and work independently while contributing to a team environment.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency for data entry and recordkeeping.

Nice To Haves

  • Graduate of an accredited school of medical technology.
  • Certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or equivalent medical technician certification.
  • Experience working in a federal, NASA, or government contract environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform X-ray examinations using ALARA technique to minimize radiation exposure.
  • Transfer, record, and maintain X-ray images and reports, coordinate with vendors and off-site imaging providers.
  • Serve as Clinic Radiation Safety Officer, maintaining dosimetry reports, equipment calibration, and compliance with health physics requirements.
  • Conduct vision testing, tonometry, and audiometric testing, maintaining accurate patient records.
  • Support pulmonary function testing, electrocardiograms, and other diagnostic procedures as needed.
  • Perform blood sampling, typing, analysis, and other laboratory tests, including drug and alcohol screening.
  • Collect and process urine and blood samples in accordance with established protocols.
  • Maintain laboratory records for quality control and regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinate lab orders, reporting, and results with off-site laboratory service providers.
  • Obtain patient vital signs, perform assessments, and administer vaccines and tuberculosis testing.
  • Conduct first aid and other medical procedures as required.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for all patient procedures, lab results, and diagnostic testing.
  • Maintain laboratory, radiology, and film processing equipment in coordination with Chief Nurse/Administrator, ensuring timely service and maintenance.
  • Perform daily audio calibrations and maintain refrigerator/freezer logs for vaccines and specimens.
  • Manage supply inventory and coordinate with vendors for ordering and maintenance.
  • Observe all regulatory, departmental, and safety requirements, including Bloodborne Pathogens and radiation safety protocols.
  • Assist in data collection, reporting, and record-keeping for laboratory, radiology, and diagnostic services.
