About The Position

With over 60 years of service to the community as the premier imaging center in Tallahassee, we continue to grow and thrive. We are seeking a Radiologic Technologist to join our growing team. This is a full time, benefits eligible position. Monday-Friday, eight hour shift between 8a-530p. Occassional Saturday rotations may be required as well (paid at a 50% shift differential) This position includes: Excellent health coverage (CHP) with low monthly employee premiums 10.3% 401K/Pension contribution with no match requirements 23 days of paid time off accrued during first year of employment ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Prepares patients for radiologic procedures. Performs radiographs following established policies and procedures. Correlates the clinical history with the diagnostic study to be performed. Uses a variety of radiation protection and shielding materials in accordance with prescribed radiation safety standards. Practices sterile technique and prevents cross contamination. Ensures equipment is in working order and reports equipment malfunctions to supervisor. Maintains ethical relationships with patients and staff. Participate in film critiques and assist in maintaining quality control of radiographs. Assists in performing first aid and emergency care as necessary. Assists in keeping department neat, orderly, and stocked with supplies at all times. Required to work the schedule as assigned; may be required to work overtime and to rotate shifts if the need arises. Assists in technical training of students and staff. Performs all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school degree or equivalent.
  • Completion of accredited course in radiologic technology and maintain current Florida HRS licensure.
  • Current certification with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Must maintain ongoing continuing education requirements.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Minimum of one year of experience and/or training in radiologic technology program.
  • Knowledge of radiography policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology necessary to perform x-ray testing.
  • Knowledge of radiology equipment, including safety hazards common to radiology.
  • Skill in positioning patients properly.
  • Skill in identifying equipment problems and correcting or notifying appropriate supervisor.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and apply written instructions and standardized work practices.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with staff and patients.
