Wellstar is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to join their team. This position may work in various modalities including Diagnostic, CT, IR, Mammography, MRI, or Nuclear Medicine, with duties tailored to the assigned modality. The role involves performing imaging exams, ensuring technical quality and patient identification, providing optimal patient care, adhering to patient safety principles, maintaining aseptic technique, and assisting Radiologists.

Requirements

  • Certificate Radiologic Technology
  • Basic Life Support or BLS - Instructor (required upon hire)
  • Minimum 1 year Diagnostic experience
  • Nuclear Medicine: no experience required
  • CT: 1 year in diagnostic
  • IR, Mammo, MRI: 2 years in diagnostics
  • Ability to operate appropriate modality imaging equipment based on department
  • Ability to communicate verbally and written
  • Possess excellent patient/customer service skills

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates sound knowledge in the performance of assigned modality imaging while adhering to department protocol and standards and applies the principles of ALARA to minimize exposure to patients, self and others.
  • Performs imaging exams consistent to assigned modality in a variety of settings.
  • Evaluates images for technical quality, performs post processing of data and ensures proper patient identification is recorded.
  • Provides optimal patient care and assumes responsibility for the patient's needs during their procedures and exemplifies the philosophy of Patient Family Centered care to all.
  • Applies the principles of patient safety during all aspects of patient care and identifies and responds to emergency situations in an appropriate manner.
  • Strictly adheres to the principles of aseptic technique and hand washing policies.
  • Assists the Radiologist with procedures and protocols.
  • Other duties as assigned.
