Time Type: Part time Department: All Locations: 10 Gove Street – Taylor Building Position Summary: The Radiologic Technologist is expected to produce high quality Radiographic, under the guidance of the Radiology Supervisor. These films shall be produced in a safe technique as well as standard precautions. The Radiologic Technologist will also take part in Quality Improvement and Quality Control activities.

Responsibilities

Performs Diagnostic Radiographic examination following department protocol and utilizing technical factors to ensure the highest quality result head and neck studies, chest studies, spine and pelvis, upper extremity, lower extremity, abdomen, and pediatric studies.
Produces copies of Radiographic images as needed.
Follows Radiation safety procedures on all exams keeping them ALARA.
Appropriately utilizes shields to reduce exposure to patient.
Sets technical factors to reduce patient exposure and produce high quality films.
Uses sterile technique if required and follows standard precautions.
Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to communicate with all the age groups we serve.
Prepares patients for the exam by explaining the exam procedure in a kind, respectful manner.An interpreter will be utilized as needed.
Demonstrates the ability to recognize age-related pathology and physical presentation when performing exams and choosing technical factors.
