We are looking for patient centered radiologic technologists, who are willing to learn and grow in a fast-paced clinic. Work Schedule: Full-Time Monday-Friday, 8:00 A. M. - 5:00 P.M. and rotating weekend coverage. May also require flex-schedule to accommodate early and late patients. Summary : Performs radiographic and other diagnostic imaging procedures to assist orthopedic providers in the diagnosis of disease and injuries by performing the following duties. This position requires compliance with OrthoEast’s compliance standards, including its Code of Conduct, Compliance Program, and policies and procedures. Such compliance will be an element required as part of the job duties and considered during performance evaluations.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school in radiologic technology.
  • Six months job-related experience preferred.
  • ARRT certification required.
  • CPR certification required.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Experience in maintaining confidentiality in dealing with sensitive issues.
  • Successful record of follow through on commitments and demonstrated ability.
  • The physical demands of this position require standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, stretching, talking and hearing. The employee must frequently lift and/or move more than 50 pounds in positioning patients. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision work.
  • Good communication skills required in dealing with diverse patient population, often concerning stress and/or emotional situations.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently.
  • Ability to handle frequent change, delays, and/or unexpected events.
  • Must be willing to work in a team environment and contribute to building a positive team spirit.
  • Must be able to stay focused during work periods of high patient volume.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and positions patient for diagnostic imaging procedures.
  • Adjusts immobilization devices to obtain optimum views of specified area of body requested by physician
  • Explains procedures to patient to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation.
  • Moves imaging equipment into specified position, determines exposure factors on basis of height, weight, portion of body involved, and degree of penetration required, and adjusts equipment controls to set exposure factors and produce images of proper detail, density, and accuracy.
  • Practices radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patient and staff.
  • Performs specialized and routine diagnostic radiology procedures, including computed radiography, digital radiography, and bone density studies if indicated.
  • Processes images and reviews for proper identification and quality control.
  • Prepares images for reading by requesting physician.
  • Performs routine maintenance, diagnoses malfunctions, and makes minor repairs on radiologic equipment, arranging for repairs as needed.
  • Completes forms and maintains records, logs, and reports of work performed.
  • Other duties as required.
