Job Description: The Radiologic Technologist delivers exceptional customer service and provides assistance and procedural information to all patients and visitors. Responsibilities include scrubbing procedures, performing tests, entering orders, and carrying out other tasks as needed to support the department’s operations.

Requirements

Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is required and must be maintained throughout employment.
A minimum of two years of experience in a Cath Lab, Special Procedures, or Interventional Radiology setting is required.
BLS certification is required at the time of hire.
ACLS certification is required at the time of hire.
Strong communication, patient education, and customer service skills are required.
Knowledge of biohazard management.
Sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time
Lifting objects, possibly weights in excess of 30 pounds
Bending, reaching, and twisting
Ability to assist and support patients in transfer from exam rooms, out of wheelchairs, onto exam tables, during the exam process, etc.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus as needed
Ability to work collaboratively in a clinical, team-based environment is essential.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience with PACS systems and vascular C-arms is strongly preferred.
Experience with vascular and general surgery procedures is preferred.
Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.

Responsibilities

Performs radiologic technologist duties for vascular procedures, ensuring sterile technique and continuous physician support to maintain safety and efficiency. Responsibilities include angiography of the extremities, bone marrow biopsies, and venous studies—covering patient prep, imaging guidance, contrast administration, and documentation in compliance with regulatory standards.
Apply comprehensive understanding of radiographic imaging techniques and patient physiological monitoring during procedures to ensure accurate and safe outcomes.
Ensure a safe and supportive environment for the administration of contrast materials, monitoring for adverse reactions and following all protocols.
Consistently maintain sterile fields and follow infection control practices during all procedures.
Clearly explain procedures to patients, answer questions, and address concerns expressed by patients and their families to ensure understanding and comfort.
Accurately input, update, and manage patient information in PACS, ECW, and other electronic systems, documenting procedures and patient status in real time.
Obtain and verify medical information from referring providers, patients, and insurance companies to support proper scheduling, documentation, and billing.
Safely transport patients as needed.
Assist in training and mentoring new staff members to support team development and departmental efficiency.
Monitor, reorder, and restock materials and supplies in Procedure Rooms 1 and 2 to maintain procedural readiness.
Provide administrative or clinical support as requested by leadership to ensure the smooth functioning of daily operations.
