About The Position

The Radiology Tech is responsible for utilizing ionizing radiation to perform diagnostic x-ray alongside cross training to Urgent Care Technicians. This position requires an excellent knowledge of human anatomy and pathology to provide quality films for interpretation. Responsibilities include performing diagnostic images onsite, triaging urgent care patients, performing onsite diagnostic testing, preparing patient medical records, and ensuring patient safety. The role also involves effective communication with patients and staff, maintaining compliance with hospital standards, and supporting the front desk staff as needed.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiology program.
  • Associates degree in Applied Science required.
  • One (1) year of experience preferred.
  • State of Florida Radiologic Technology License.
  • ARRT Certification required.
  • American Heart Association BLS for healthcare providers required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work independently.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize ionizing radiation to perform diagnostic x-ray.
  • Cross train to support Urgent Care Technicians.
  • Perform diagnostic images onsite.
  • Triage urgent care patients including vital signs and medical histories.
  • Perform onsite diagnostic testing such as rapid strep, flu, and venipuncture.
  • Prepare patient medical records for the provider.
  • Accurately perform specimen collections and testing.
  • Monitor computer data entry and workflow.
  • Assess environment for patient safety and determine appropriate equipment.
  • Maintain chain of custody for forensic collections.
  • Promote effective communication between patients, staff, physicians, and visitors.
  • Perform surveillance exams including hearing tests, vision screening, spirometry, and EKGs.
  • Conduct breath alcohol testing and urine drug screening.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and maintain compliance with procedural standards.
  • Support front desk responsibilities including registration and insurance verification.
  • Maintain a clean environment and ensure adequate supplies.
