About The Position

The Radiology Tech is responsible for utilizing ionizing radiation to perform diagnostic x-ray alongside cross training to Urgent Care Technicians. This position requires an excellent knowledge of human anatomy and pathology to provide quality films for interpretation. The Radiology Tech will perform diagnostic images onsite, triage urgent care patients, perform onsite diagnostic testing, prepare patient medical records, and ensure accurate documentation. The role also involves effective communication with patients, staff, and physicians, and maintaining compliance with hospital standards.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Radiology program.
• Associates degree in Applied Science required.
• One (1) year of experience preferred.
• State of Florida Radiologic Technology License.
• ARRT Certification required.
• American Heart Association BLS for healthcare providers required.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work independently.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Utilize ionizing radiation to perform diagnostic x-ray.
• Cross train to support Urgent Care Technicians.
• Perform diagnostic images onsite.
• Triage urgent care patients including vital signs and medical histories.
• Perform onsite diagnostic testing including rapid strep, flu, and venipuncture.
• Prepare patient medical records for the provider.
• Accurately perform specimen collections and testing.
• Monitor computer data entry and workflow.
• Assess environment for patient safety and determine appropriate equipment.
• Maintain chain of custody for forensic collections.
• Promote effective communication between patients, staff, physicians, and visitors.
• Perform surveillance exams including hearing tests, vision screening, spirometry, and EKGs.
• Conduct breath alcohol testing and urine drug screening.
• Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with procedural standards.
• Support front desk staff and responsibilities.
• Maintain a clean environment and assist in lifting patients and heavy equipment.
