About The Position

Under the direction of the Associate Director of Radiology and the clinical direction of the Radiologists, provides radiologic care to patients for the purpose of diagnosis and/or treatment of anatomic and physiologic disorders. Perform all routine radiographic procedures and assist in fluoroscopy. Demonstrate anatomy under investigation through proper patient positioning, image identification, technique selection, administration of contrast media, application of immobilization and radiation protection devices according to department policy and procedures. Receive requisition, checking for special instructions from the requesting physician. Ensure appropriate clinical history on requisition. Consult with radiologist as necessary. Pleasantly greet patients, confirming their identification and introducing self. Completely explain examination procedure to the patient, and the patient's family if present. Using a standardized form, routinely question patient before contrast injection as to possible contraindications. Document all relevant information. Question female patients as to pregnancy status and document appropriately. May inject contrast media to patients under direction of a Radiologist, providing there has been demonstration of appropriate training and skills to the satisfaction of the department chair.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology.
  • One year experience in a hospital setting preferred.
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or Registry eligible.
  • Obtain registration within 90 days of hire date preferred; within one year required.
  • Current New Hampshire Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy License.
  • New Graduates must be registered with the New Hampshire Board and obtain licensure within one year of graduation.
  • CPR certification must be acquired and maintained within three months of hire date.

Responsibilities
